Copy Cat
The next project in painting is the Artist Copies. I have chosen Irises, a painting by Vincent van Gogh. In this project I have to map out a grid on the picture itself and on my board which I will be painting on. This is going to be a major test for me because I am going to have to push myself to be diciplined and look at every little square to hopefully have a masterpiece like Van Gogh.
Hopefully mine will look like the above picture when it is finished.

Do the opposite
I thought it would be neat to record myself painting and speed it up. I am painting my apple green and my pepper red because in this step I had to paint the opposite color. Hope you like the song :)

Tip your hat to this *VENTING*
Ok. Lets get something straight. I AM NOT A PAINTER. I like digital art. I try my best with everything I do but this is driving me insane. The still life fruit exercise makes me want to cry. All the other paintings look amazing, I know mine doesn't but I am still trying. When we critique these I will probably be an emotional wreck cause you should see what my painting skills are being compared to. GRRRR i'm frustrated because my pears STILL have top hats as stems!!!

Spongebobbing
This is my 3rd color changing meeeee. I dont like this one as much but I used the sponging technique it was fun but it took FOREVER.
Fruity Times
In class we began a still life project with fruits and vegetables. I'm not a painter so these different techniques are blowing my mind. First, outline what is seen. Second, fill in shapes with white gesso. Third, color in shapes the opposite color. Fourth, fill in shapes original color. (This gives the painting a three dimensional look) The last fill in everything else. We have to complete 2 paintings before the fruits and veggies rot away. Here is a beginning look at my project:
Act Pretty at Inky Lips Press
The class got to go on a field trip to Casey McGarr's house the owner of Inky Lips Press. IT WAS AWESOME. Since I had to be back for a volleyball game, I was able to be one of the first ones to use the letter press. It was an awesome experience and I learned a lot about the technique in making this type of art. Below are some pictures and posters I made.
